Claire Delaney, Chair of Bellevue Place Education Trust, joined the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Education at a reception at Lancaster House in London to represent Halley House School and celebrate the success of free schools across the country.

Part of the Bellevue Place Education Trust family of primary schools, Halley House School plans to provide a combination of the best that state and independent education has to offer and will be free to attend.

Halley House School was one of over 200 schools represented at the event. The first free schools
opened just over three years ago in September 2011, yet there are now 360 of these schools open or approved to open, together creating more than 200,000 new school places.

The Prime Minister said: “The success of free schools has been remarkable. The creation of 251 new free schools in just four and a half years, with three-quarters of them being rated good or outstanding, is something to be incredibly proud of. Free schools bring innovation, create choice and competition, and raise standards and I whole-heartedly believe that they are driving an extraordinary and beneficial change in Britain. We want to go on investing and helping with the free school success, to create the best education system in Western Europe that enables young people to get on and make the most of their lives”.

Ms Delaney added: “Our goal is to be outstanding in everything we do in all our schools by providing a nurturing environment with the highest expectations for academic achievement, personal development and pupil well-being. We look forward to meeting prospective parents at our upcoming Open Event on Wednesday 29th October and sharing further details on our plans to provide an excellent primary school for the local community.”

Families with children starting school next September and beyond are invited to our Open Events on Wednesday 29th October and Wednesday 12th November.
