y House School is located at Metropole College’s former building at 52-58 Arcola Street, E8 2DJ. The Education Funding Agency purchased the building to ensure future provision of more primary school places in the area. The renovation process is in two phases, with the first phase (including the ground and third floors) completed in time for opening on 7th September 2015. Building works are continuing on the first and second floors, and outside areas. The result will be a stimulating, safe and welcoming environment suitable for primary-age pupils.

The Trust has appointed CityAxis on a design and build contract for the school. CityAxis is an established London contractor with extensive experience of building and refurbishing education buildings.

Planning applications for our Reception roof terrace, exterior fencing and school signage have all been approved. Strip out of the building has already largely been completed, with an extensive review of the existing materials within the building and assessment of what can be retained and renewed.

We will provide regular updates on the building throughout the construction period and, once sufficient progress has been made and the building is safe for visitors, we will seek to show parents around the building.
The building refurbishments continue to progress at an impressive rate.
