    Elizabeth Waite

    With 17 years of experience in education, Elizabeth is a dedicated and passionate teacher who has spent her career shaping the future of students in diverse, inner-city primary schools across London. Currently serving as Deputy Head, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Assessment Lead, Phonics Lead, and Induction Tutor, she brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to her role at Halley.

    Throughout her career, Elizabeth has taught across all key stages and previously led several subjects, always striving to create a supportive and enriching environment for her students. Her love for reading and history informs her approach to teaching, and she is especially proud of her phonics program, which has successfully helped hundreds of children develop essential literacy skills. Drawing on her own educational experiences in a multi-cultural urban setting, Elizabeth is committed to fostering inclusion, empathy, and excellence in the classroom, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

    Soozii has worked in education for the last 16 years, teaching and leading across schools in Hackney. As a founding member of Halley House School, Soozii has been an integral part of the Halley House journey, leading on SEND and Inclusion since the schooled opened on September 2015.

    "Halley House is a warm and inclusive place" (Ofsted, July 2024) sums up the work Soozii and the staff team put into supporting children learn in a positive and nurturing space. Her proudest achievement is seeing how Halley House has developed over time from and a pre-opening building site to the thriving school it is today.
