Pupil’s work selected for the RA Young Artists' Show
I saw this view from the school window and asked my teacher if we could use my one to one art session to draw them. I liked the birds sitting on the top of the lamp post.
- Khaiyron
We are incredibly proud to share that our former pupil, Khaiyron, has had his drawing selected for the Royal Academy’s Young Artists’ Summer Show 2025 - a prestigious national exhibition that celebrates the creativity of young people across the UK.
Khaiyron’s artwork was submitted by specialist art educator, Kate Hodgson, during his time at Halley House. It was chosen from thousands of entries nationwide and is now featured in the Royal Academy of Arts' online gallery. This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of Khaiyron’s talent.
Ms Hodgson said: "Drawing is a foundational skill for human creativity and children need encouragement in all drawing skills, from their abstract ideas to observational drawings. Khaiyron, through his artwork, managed to capture a beautiful moment of observation. I do hope that he will continue to focus on his drawing and build his skills through his education, after all, his skill has been recognised nationally!"
His mum says: "Khaiyron loves everything arts & craft. I’m so proud of him! I would like to thank Ms Kate for never giving up on him and always being gentle, caring and pushing him to do his best."
