Become a teacher on the job
Our trust, the Bellevue Place Education Trust, has partnered with Teach First to deliver our School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme (SCITT). The SCITT programme is based at our school, it is one-year long and involves a powerful mix of live training in class, self-directed study and one-to-one support.
Training with our teachers, in the classroom, will enable you to develop the skills needed and it is ideal for people who are eager to learn on the job and make a difference in our community from day one. As a trainee, you will be interacting every day with pupils and work as a member of our teaching staff.
You’ll receive plenty of practical experience as well as subject-specific training and a deep understanding of effective teaching methods. The programme is 12 months long, and at the end you will gain qualified teacher status (QTS) and Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) awarded by Sheffield Hallam University.
