Trips & Residentials

Enriching Learning Through Shared Adventures

We believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls.

Our trips and residential experiences provide children with unique opportunities to explore the world around them, develop crucial life skills, and create cherished memories with their peers. These carefully planned adventures are designed to enhance classroom learning while nurturing curiosity, independence, and a love for discovery.

We view trips and residentials as a partnership between school and home, recognising the invaluable role families play in these experiences. Before each trip, we provide comprehensive information, including itineraries, activities, and safety measures, ensuring that you feel confident and excited about your child’s journey.

Engaging with the local community is an essential part of our educational approach. Local visits offer children an interactive way to deepen their understanding of curriculum topics while fostering a connection to the world immediately around them.

Local visits: Exploring Our Community

Some of our favourite local trips include:

  • Hackney Empire: Children get the opportunity to visit this important local cultural landmark and watch some amazing entertainment
  • Hackney Library: Pupils dive into the enchanting world of books, explore library resources, and occasionally meet inspiring authors
  • The British Museum: Pupils will engage with world history and cultures through exploration of the museum's collections, fostering a deeper understanding of global civilizations and their contributions

  • BPET Competitions: Pupils will represent their school in inter-school challenges, developing critical thinking, collaboration, and a sense of achievement.

International Adventures: Art Trip to Italy in 2024

In June 2024, our Year 6 pupils embarked on an unforgettable five-day journey to Florence, Italy, made possible by the Turing Scheme. This trip offered children the chance to immerse themselves in the rich culture and history of the Renaissance.

Visits to iconic art galleries like the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia di Belle Arti brought pupils face-to-face with masterpieces by Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli. Through interactive workshops, they learned about artistic techniques and styles while exploring the historical context of these works.

Beyond art, pupils marvelled at Florence’s architectural gems, including the majestic Duomo Cathedral, and experienced Italian customs and cuisine. These moments not only broadened their cultural horizons but also fostered a sense of wonder and global awareness. Our pupils returned brimming with excitement, fresh perspectives, and lifelong memories.

The British Museum

The British Museum offers an enriching learning experience, most recently for Year 4 and Year 6 pupils by bringing history to life through its vast collection of artifacts spanning diverse time periods and civilizations. For pupils studying ancient civilizations such as Egypt and Greece, they can explore iconic exhibits like the Rosetta Stone and Parthenon sculptures, deepening their understanding of cultural achievements, beliefs, and daily life. For others, the museum provides a unique opportunity to examine periods like the Roman Empire or the early Islamic world, fostering critical thinking by connecting primary sources to classroom topics. Interactive displays, workshops, and guided tours encourage curiosity and inquiry, making history tangible and engaging for young learners.

At our school, trips and residentials are more than just excursions—they are milestones in your child’s educational journey. Through these shared experiences, we aim to nurture curious, confident, and compassionate learners ready to explore the world.

We are excited to have your family join us on this adventure!
